Renew & Restore

This millage simply asks voters to RENEW the current 0.9 enhancement mills due to run out at the end of this year, and RESTORE only a portion of the mills (0.65) that have been rolled back by the Headlee Amendment and which voters had already approved.

The millage will help replace some of the special education dollars that have been lost in local school districts due to declining taxable property values in Jackson, and other cuts to K-12 budget.

Most importantly, the millage will help RENEW our commitment to our community and RESTORE the education our children deserve.

Does this mean that our school will be “back in the money”? Hardly. However, it will help local school districts by restoring a vital revenue source they are in danger of losing!
